Courtesy lights stay on
Just bought this torch red c4 and the inside lights stay on for 15 minutes period ----doors open or closed --night or day --key on or off. It's not the dimmer switch, and not the door or hatch switches. Can disable by pulling fuse #37 and #38 (which kills the radio)(I could just pull the bulbs) but I hope someone knows about this . I suspect a relay or timer. Would be ok to bypass defective module if I knew what it was and how to do it. Many thanks.

When you ask for help, always include the year vette, they aren't all exactly alike!
The courtesy lights are turned on by the headlight sw turned fully CCW, or the door jamb switches being activated when the door opens or the rear hatch being opened. The light switch grounds the lights and the door jamb switches and hatch switch ground an input on the courtesy light delay timer. It sounds like you have a defective delay timer. On my 87 the timer is located behind the instrument panel on the RH side near the multi use center. A picture of its location is in the electrical diagnosis manual.

I think JFB is on the right track. The head light switch turned ccw will turn the lights on permanently. Check that then unplug the module to verify it does not have a short turning on the lights. Then check the switches that activate the module.
Pwnage; depending on what you want to accomplish you can do several things. The timer is set by opening a door and it turns on the lights. Then it either times out in about 15 sec or it is reset by the ignition switch being switched to run or start. Wilcox has a bypass board to replace the module. Or, you can unplug the module entirely and turn the lights on with the headlight switch manually.
