The mouse and I
So I have had problems in the past one got up behind the dash board and ate the vacume lines to heat and AC. (not fun replacing them) Then the next year Im driving down the road and I got one riding shotgun set traps catch 2 of them, one jumps out when I stop at the bank. OK the whole freaking car is like 6 square feet Check everywere nothing this is 6 monts ago. Saterday I'm pumping gas a good size one runs up onto my rear window and is looking at me like hello A-hole. I could not beleave it, runs around my rear window down my pass door about mid way down I open hand grab him but those little sticky feet
are stuck to my door and I miss SOB, runs up to the front ducks inside my hood. that Mother #### . All this time I'm swearing the people at the other pumps are steering in horror . I open my front clip and I see him down in my door jam I can't reach him. Now Im thinking were can he get back in? I check the inside again Nothing, I set a trap 2 days now nothing. THIS IS WAR!! I feel like that Caddy shack guy.Question How can I win this Battle!!

I am assuming you are parked outside? If so, just makes it hard this time of year, the C4's seem to have a lot more places to get in than the C5's as I never had any issues with my C5's outside but did with my previous C4.
Some solutions.........inside the cabin, moth ***** have kept them out for me but the smell isn't the best. Some fragrent soaps will do the same I am told, like Irish Spring (better smelling than the moth *****). Can also hide some behind the rear license plate. Under the hood is more difficult but Decon is all I have used. You have to remove it each time you go for a drive. Decon works with water so once they take a drink, then "curtains"! Not normal for water to be available in your vette so you shouldn't have to worry about dead mice in your vette (but it has happened)
Or the final solution..........sell the vette for one that's garage kept!

The car is parked outside, I have tryed the drier sheets, I guess they did not work. I like the cat Idea but could be tuff to drive with it running around chasing them. the Electronic device could work but I'll need a very long elc cord. I'm kind of an animal lover but thats changing.Mabe I should try playing Ted Nugent' Cat scratch fever or even some Stray Cats songs, I want to get my cars address out of the mouse newsletter.

Go get some peppermint oil (essence of peppermint). NOT the flavoring stuff for cookies. It comes in a tiny bottle like iodine, sometimes you can find it at a grocery store - if not try a natural foods place maybe? Get some cotton *****, put about 2 or 3 drops on each cotton ball, and distribute them. About two inside the cockpit, maybe 3. A few under the hood, in a place they won't blow out when you drive.
I'm told rodents such as mice, chipmunks, etc not only don't like the smell, but are allergic to it and will avoid it big time. And their noses are a lot more sensitive than a human's. Plus it smells a lot better in the car than moth *****. You can refresh the drops about once a month.
I've used this over the winters with no "guests" at all. Also we use it in the basement - we used to get mice almost every fall and have had none since I started using the peppermint. A small bottle will last a long time.
Good luck - try this and I bet your problem will be gone!

Also at least put moth ***** under the car, it will help.
Mice can drive you nuts! I bought a brand new Hyundia Sonata. About 5K miles on it the car started to stink - real bad. The wife was convinced it was the car. She raised hell with the dealer. The dealer took the entire dash out a pulled out a decaying 1 ounce mouse and charged me $850 labor. Mouse got down into the dash through the water drain holes near the hood. Couldn't get out and died.
I live near mountains. Lots of rodents. At Autozone they sell this black plastic tubing which appears coiled with a slit down it. It's in different diameter sizes. Put the tubing over every plug wire, harness, and other wires. The mice have to eat through this to get to the wire. Auto manufactures use it but not on everything. Using this I never had trouble with mice on my outside cars.

Joe, the brand I bought was AuraCacia and it was in the local grocery store in the natural foods section. (had to ask, I normally don't get past the meat and ice cream aisles
) Our store no longer carries it but it's available on line. Not sure if a direct link is permitted on here but do your homework and you'll find it. A small bottle costs about 6 bucks, a bag of cotton ***** is next to nothing, and they will last you a long time. If $7 or so will send Mickey on his way, it's well worth it!
