so heres the rundown. about 2 weeks ago i changed out the exhaust on my car, new cats and catback. the next day the car broke down on me and wouldnt start. got it home and after messing with it a bit, i changed the icm and the car started right up. its run fine since then, but has had a check engine light. i pulled the codes and it was h42 and h62. h42 is ignition control circuit shorted. h62 is Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Voltage Low. now, once the car warms up to about 185-190, the check engine light goes away. its only on when the car is under that temp. so does anyone have any clue what it could be? the only idea i have, is that when i removed the driver side cat i had to remove a bolt that grounded 3 wires and a ground strap. they were grounded to the bracket that held up the cat. well the new cat didnt have that bracket, so i just cut the piece off the old one so i could still have something to ground those wires too. is it possible that they dont have a good ground and thats causing my problem? thanks!!!!
If it was working OK before, then you probably caused damage or broke something loose when changing the cats. I would start there. Also, if you reattached ground straps, I would make sure they are making a good connection and not insulated along the grounding path.
Also, was the ground strap connected to the frame or cat previously. You make it sound as if you have attached the ground straps directly to the cat this time. That is probably not the best ground location.
