Make sure the engine is cool and don't be afraid to move stuff out of the way to make access easier.
If you're them going to leave the covers off for a bit cover everything with some trash bags.
Tag everything you disconnect and put loose stuff in sandwich baggies.
If you use rubber gaskets you don't need any sealer.
Clean out threads and holes with Q-Tips or pieces of rag, and clean everything else as well.
And for goodness sake when you put stuff back together don't tighten everying until it starts glowing and smokin'
