I've checked a ton of places for tips to put on some straight pipe so I can leave my stock tips together with my mufflers when I take them off. Most places have 2 1/2 in inlet tips as their largest size. My question is, can I put 2 1/2 in. inlet tips on these exhaust pipes? Too much reducing, or probably not noticable? I can get cheap 2 1/2 in tips to try the elim's with to make sure I like them, then change later to something nicer.
I've called two places in Plano, one is Pronto mufflers (I think) on Central. At first he said, "You don't want to do that." When I told him I think I'd be alright  he told me $80 to put them on with the old tips, $250 with some new dual crome tips. Another small place in Plano (got it from the yellow pages, can't remember name) told me $75 with the old tips. I looked on DriverDX.com or something like that, and they had some Hedman tips that I would try with elims just to keep the stock stuff together to put back on if I didn't like them. I'm just wondering if I can use 2 1/2 in. inlets off the 2 3/4 in exhaust pipes. I'm sure they can reduce them.
I have a friend that has a Pace car Rustang that use to change his exhaust around about once a month. Seemed like he was always messing with it. The shop he went to is on the south side of Parker west of Custer behind the oil change place. Across the street from Pizza Hut. You might stop in there and ask.
