Ya and that storm you guys are supposed to get, you're sending the flippin thing right into Ontario where I am on Wed... I work outside for a living, I am getting sooo tired of mountain climbing just to get to a telephone pole!
They get enough snow, you won't even need a ladder.....just walk right up.
Funny you should mention that One of the areas I cover is a shore road on the edge of Lake Huron. While it's a fact the cable isn't as high as normal on the poles, it's still over 14' (minimum required) and I can in fact reach the cable from the snow bank. After a wind storm, the drifts on the road are so dense, a car with reasonably wide tires can drive on them instead of through them. Most winters the end up bringing in a front end loader to clear snow as plows can't do it, snow just falls back down in behind them.

Weather channel say's it's suppossed to be the largest area wise storm in recorded history, Think i'm gonna go hunt puxatoni phil(or whatever his name is) and skin him up.
I hate Punxatawany Phil, it is a scam, stupid ground hog. I shoot as many of his little brothers and sisters as I can in the spring before they plant the fields just to annoy him.
The only thing good about ground hog day is that I get to watch Ground Hog Day staring Bill Murray, great movie.
Your not the only one! I'm not looking foreward for all this weather they're predicting.
Decatur Illinois HUMMM me too, 12-18 inches snow, solid ice and Peoria getting 24. All the generators are sold out and OH , I forgot 40 mile an hour wind gusts !!!
Not to jack the thread too bad but pm me. I am looking for my first C4, have had C3s.

I worked in Edmonton for almost a year (and Calgary, Red Deer and Vancouver).. You don't get the snow we do, but damn I'll take our snow over the absolute cold you get!!
You can have them both. If it wasn't for my daughter, I would go south !!! Hasn't been too bad this season, only a few days -5 and below wind chills. Last year saw -30 wind chills for what seemed like an eternity. The next 3-4 days are going to be a killer. I guess I won't be out test driving C4s. YUK YUK !!!

Are you crazy?. I'll take the dry cold at -30 any day compared to the wet
damp -15 out east Plus when it does snow, a human can lift it
Because we're so close to the lake (for those that don't know Huron it's about 200mi x 160mi) we get a buffer from cold, typical winter day is 20F although past week has had a lot of 0F.. We rarely get wet snow but typically will see 8ft plus in a winter (settles to maybe 3ft).
I've also worked in T.O., you can't dress to work outside there, damp all the time but they're 120miles south of us..
When I was in Edmonton, I had a crew of "city" guys working for me in Fort McMurray, they quit after 2 weeks and flew home at their own expense
