at the risk of stepping between a fight,
if you take the plastic cover off the fuel filler (4 screws), then pull the rubber surround off, you can reach in without taking skin off (it worked for me to replace bulbs)
Thank you, I actually have to replace the guys entire lenses though..
It isn't that bad to remove the lights with the stock fasteners. My one tail light had philips head screws, now that was fun (I didn't let out one bad word, just blood). I removed the read license plate and the back up lights.
Just bought the 94 in my signature a couple weeks ago and noticed that the right inboard tail light was ****-eyed. Finally got a chance to check it out yesterday and discovered that the posts on the back of the housing that the mounting screws screw into to hold the housing on the rear bumper cover were broken. Can't figure out how that happened without scratching up the rear bumper.
Just ordered a replacement from GMpartsdirect.com a few minutes ago.
zr1fred's post below hit the nail on the head! Never thought of the over-tightening cause for the broken posts. Makes perfect sense. Thanks Fred! I will be careful not to over-tighten the screws when I install the new housing.

It's very common. People over tighten the 10mm headed screws. Presto, cracked/broken post. For some reason it tends to happen a little more on the 91 up style.
I would put a "JK" @ the end of that. No need to be a jerk..he prolly just posted the pic so he could help someone out that would be changing their tail lights with the TAIL SECTION ON THE CAR LIKE MOST OF US DO.
