Well early this week I was working on building a work bench in my garage. After that I planned on doing a complete bushing kit on my Vette. I have never done a bushing kit by my self before and was looking forward to the experience. Fate had another plan. I ended up severing the tip of my pointer finger on my left hand. It was surgically repaired on Wed. I will now have a LOT of pain and limited use of my left hand for a month or so. The bushing kit is now being put off until next year. I will be posting the kit in the for sale section on Monday when the Vette gets back home (parked it at my shop during work bench construction). So if anybody is interested in a bushing kit for a 1985 Vette PM me.
Save them for next year. They will not go bad Those things were made years ago already.
I have a few other things I would like to do. I figure I'll put the money I get back into the Double Din bezel. My wife only allows me to spend so much $$$$ every winter on my car, and I've already gone way over it. I just buy them again next year when I am ready to avoid the .
Damn....we've all done stuff like this, don't feel bad. Hope you heal up quickly. I'm with Pete....keep the bushings for later. You'll feel differently once the pain stops.
At first I thought you were talking about your finger!
Frizlefrak - I know that once the pain stops I will be itching to do this. The problem is this will be the 2nd time I have done a bushing kit in a car, 1st time all by myself. I know my Vette will be down for a while, so this is definitely a winter project for me. By the time this thing completely heals winter will be over. I would rather sell the kit and buy something that I can actually do right now, then buy the kit again when I am ready.
I have to keep myself busy. The more I do the less I think about the miserable pain in my hand.
Hope you recover quickly, and I'm sure there is no shortage of SUMMER projects you can do on the car as well. At least it sounds like the surgery went well and hopefully it will mend even faster than predicted.
Dang that must have hurt. How much are those bushing kits? The reason I ask is that you may have to sell for less than they're worth and then when you repurchase they will most likely be higher.
Actually, we balance each other real well. I love to spend money and she hates to. I make her spend more then she wants and she makes me spend less.

So you end up paying more than you already have.
Anyway, good luck on your recovery!
Hurt like hell when I did it. Still hurts like hell now. The bushing kit was like $200 plus shipping. I'll probably sell it for $150 plus shipping to get a quick sale. The worst thing about the injury is I am so heavily medicated I can't go anywhere. I NEED SOMETHING TO DO!!! I am going to skip my painkillers tomorrow morning so I can go pick up my car.

I would rather get most of my money back and put it towards something i can do right now. I want to get the double din trim bezel and I also want to up grade the interior lights to led. Thanks to everybody for the kind words (yep I am high as a kite on pain killers) .
Don't worry pal I did the same thing ,took the tip of my thumb off with a miter saw. The best was I was a Carpenter, it can happen to anybody. They told me it would not grow back, they were wrong. Keep the parts, it only hurts a little while.
Ouch! so did you mess your finger up building the workbench?
Yep, I severed it off cutting the wood with a circular(spelling?) saw. I have a pic if anybody wants to see it sewn back on. It's nasty though

Ha. I have a carpenter buddy who did a finger on each hand. He said I should do one on my other hand to even up weight distribution.
Sorry to hear of your injury gkrynick22, hope you're feeling better soon.
As a Firefighter/Paramedic I've seen way to many patients with similar injuries.
Had a young guy once lost three fingers in a snow blower accident. Kid was about
6'4", 275+. He said he was worried about his college scholorship, I said "football"?
He said "no....I'm a concert pianist". My heart sunk.......
