Air Conditioning question
I bought a '92 LT1 Coupe a few days ago and I have a question about the heating/cooling system. Is there a way to shut the air conditioner compressor off during the winter when you don't need it except for the occasional window defrosting? I see no place on the control panel to deactivate/deselect the compressor. It seems that no matter what mode you're in, the compressor continues to cycle on and off. It's not a biggie, just looking for a way to save a little fuel whenever possible.

When you select "Vent" mode, the compressor will not run.
Vent mode is the icon with the single arrow pointing at the figures head.

That's correct, the compressor is declutched, and although the pulley rotates, the compressor is not engaged.
