It will certainly go faster after

I just jam whatever cup, bottle, can or my little barrel style ashtray between the passenger seat cushion and the tranny hump. Works great!

Darn, I can't find that cup holder in the owners manual. Must be an after market item. Guess I'll have to look through the vendors list.

That is a very...well engineered cup holder, but I'd need one to hold my dt mt dew as I don't make it a habit of partaking of adult beverages in the car. And where's the koozy? I'd think that "cupholder" would make the drink a little too warm in a short amount of time.

astepup said that

It's more like two beverage warmers. With the heat radiating from mine, I don't even bother putting a drink in there. I buy bottled beverages and keep only change and my mp3 player in the cup holder area.

My change cup and ashtray were MIA when I bought the '88.
I never bothered to replace them.
Works great because it's an automatic.

I found an insulated coffee mug that fit the cup holder. It worked great. I gave it to my buddy when he bought the car, and made sure I got it back when I bought the car back.

I also use this one that I got from Mid-America. It will hold just about all beverage containers, plus I made an insert that I can put my GPS on.
