Default How to lower my fan temp turn on 1988

How do I go about getting my fan (singular) in engine compartment) one in nose)) to come on earlier. It comes on at 220? Is there something that I can buy to plug in?

runs bout 40 bucks. most of the venders sell kits to do that, you can also get it re-flashed to come on earlier, also go with a lower temp thermostat. theres alot of info here, do a search. most will say thats 'normal' for these cars, lowered my 87 , cause I'm old school and remember 'thin wall casting' problems . cars seems to like it and my AC works better.

I have a 86 coupe with the same problem. What I did was order a "Manual Operable Fan Switch" from Corvette central part # 244502 for $16.95. Wire it into the fan and you can manually turn on the fan anytime you want. When my temp gets around 190-195 I just turn on the fan. Hope this helps.

Turn on the a/c - if that doesn't keep it 10 to 15 degrees cooler at idle/slow speeds, it's broken, so forget the switch and find out what's wrong with it.

I was thinking the same thing, anytime the ac goes on the fan has to go on (to cool the freon).

here in florida, the AC is always on, so fan is always on. dont need to reprogram.

here we go that time of year. Guess GM does not know what they are doing? Thats strange knowing that these cars are 20 some years old and they have been running at these temps sense they were new..
