Default Idiotic posts

Ive been a member for about 5 years now. I learned a lot and gained a lot of knowledge. However, recently, I've been reading a lot of idiotic posts. I also noticed that a lot of the senior members don't post anymore. Now I know why. Some of these posts are from people that know nothing about cars, let alone vettes. Its a real shame. If you want to be a ricer, then buy a Honda, put a fart can muffler on it, duct tape the interior and be happy. This is getting to the point that if you really have a question or problem, you need to pm a senior member and wait for a response. I've been holding back on posting this, but enough is enough.

I'll agree partially. Some posts are either ignorant, silly or OT to the point they should be in a different forum or even on a different site.

But within this community we enjoy friendly banter and discussion and levity - just as interaction at our jobs is not 100% work-related. Personally that's one of the positive aspects of this place and I'd hate to see the mods limit every thread to 100% Corvette material.

Remember too we have different interests - some want to lower our cars, some want to race them, some want to drag, some want to restore junkers to show condition, and some just want to drive them. We all gotta give the others a little slack. Personally I see no attraction in lowering a car but lots of guys do - so this is a great place to learn how to do it.

Lastly we need to remember the ownership of these cars is constantly turning over, and as a result there is a constant stream of n00bs trying to learn things. Each and every one of us was new at one time - both to this forum and to C-4s. A great deal of what I know about C-4s (and by no means do I claim to be an expert) was learned through the help and guidance of those on here. And I try to pay it back when I can.

I too have noticed a flurry of very odd posts recently from new members. I wonder if someone or some group is effin with us as their posts are absurd. Seems like there are a bunch of out there that are laughing about our responses on some obscure Ford-related forum. JMHO

I agree with Railroadman and strongly agree with the OT jon.

I've done more work on my Vette and dont post anymore. If I see a legit thread I help the OT via PM. I started calling out these "idiotic people" and got me banned more than few times and lifetime banned. The moderators gave me one last chance.

These "idiotic people" like corvetteronw mentioned they are members that troll in here using other usernames and they've destroyed this forum. This place was awesome, so awesome that I bought the lifetime membership.

Good posts guys. I've noticed alot of trolling in C4 general and have got complaints. I've tried to squash them as quick as possible to keep the drama down. Some of the questions border on downright ridiculous without a shred of common sense applied to them. No problem Jon, you're just stating facts.

Good thread! The rediculous threads do let us stretch our legs a little though and keeps it in a thread that won't block up more serious questions and ideas.

The cars have gotten cheap, a lot that comes with that filters down to the forum. Different mentality about fixing things (if you can call it that) then it was yrs ago.

Hang in there kid, I don't think your 2 threads were the ones in question. You may have had a typo or two and your still learning the terminology of the parts and that's something we all had to learn. You received some good info from Friz regarding your fuel issue. Read the advice, ask more questions in the same thread and what we really like is feedback. Let us know that you tried the advice and what the outcome was.

Lots of wise men here and they don't mind helping.

Just don't start a poll asking what color duct tape is best for seat repair and you'll be fine

You folks are welcome to foward any and all idiotic posts to me, sometimes you have to read between the lines with some of the questions, sometimes they 'are' idiotic. sometimes they are just rude.... However... I remember when I started playing with cars, I remember more patience than I deserved, I remember not caring if the info was given in a rude sarcastic manner, as long as it was given, and I was gratefull to hear it and still am. Those of you who pass info along in that manner, please dont stop, nothing but respect. You've been and done .

But as noted above ;
the level / number of idiots has increased exponentially in the last couple of years .

There have always been guys who have been a little slow on the uptake ( needed identical 20 replies and a big stick for them to understand ) and they have been accommodated

but there seems to be more and more of them lately ( not just on this C4 Forum either )
