The rear hatch on my 96 coupe opens fine. A bit slow, but it does open. However, when I close it I can hear a slight squeaking sound. What is the best option to lube the struts? ...and where do you actually put the lubricant?
I've got some white lithium grease (spray), WD40, 3-in-one oil.
I use high-end clear bike chain lubricant on mine - Pedro's, usually.
To apply, I run a thin bead along the length of the piston, open and shut the hatch a few times to make sure everything gets coated, and check for drips.
