Hello everyone! I am having yet another problem with my '88 vette. There is an audible "click" sound that I am hearing when I shift from park to reverse or from reverse to drive or park. The sound is loud enough to hear inside the car. The car drives fine and there are no abnormal vibrations. I just hear that sound when I shift. My fear is that my transmission is going out! I hope that is not the case. Any ideas on resolving this would be appreciated.

Is the sound coming from the trans or the rear of the car? A clicking sound from one of the rear axles (usually the right) is not uncommon in the C4. It's the result of a missing teflon washer behind the wheel bearing. I get that sound in my 93 from time to time and the rear bearings have never been replaced so I can only assume either the washer broke or was not installed at the factory.
