Default Wiring issue?

I've noticed that when I initially start driving, the interior lights seem to pop on and off. The "door ajar" notice tends to flicker on and off. I'll shut the doors, the lights go off, but then they pop on a little later. On and off, they flicker Usually, after a minute or so, the problem goes away.

The lights also seem to pop on and off when I drive over some bumps (speed bumps, bad roads, etc.).

Any idea what this could be?

It's the switch that turns on the interior lights. They have a little plunger inside, they go bad.
They have a small metal "NUT PLATE" backing them up inside the door. Take out one screw only! If you remove both screws the nut plate will fall inside the door. Get a screw with the same thread pitch that is very long and thread it into the nut plate. this will keep it from falling inside when you remove the other screw. The long screw needs to be long enough to allow you to replace the switch and the second factory screw.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused. Where exactly on the door will I find this switch and nut plate? Is it right by the light? And any idea where I can find a replacement? Ecklers, Keen Parts, etc.?

Also, I believe it's happening on both doors, so will I need to do the same replacement on both sides?

The plungers do go bad and we do have the switches available. They are also self adjusting as far as the depth that they push in. You may have luck pulling the plunger out gently, then shutting the car again to reset the depth of them. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

They are located in the door jamb. Here is a picture of what you will be looking for.

Thanks!

OK, any idea where on the door the screws are that I'll have to loosen to get to the plungers?

Here is a picture of where it is located on the door. The red arrow points to the location. Hopefully this helps.
