.....when you start the car, do you see the pke message light up on the DIC? If not, then it 'may' be that the pke is turned off.

from the om:

Turning the System Off
1. Take the ignition key out of the ignition.
2. Press DOOR on the transmitter until the door locks
cycle (about two seconds).
To turn the system back on, just repeat the steps.
To check that the system is off, turn on the ignition. The
PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light on the Driver
Information Center should not come on If the light does
come on for a second or two, then the PKE systemis
still on.
You can also check whether the system is on by
closing the dooar and moving away from the vehicle
with the keys and transmitter. If the doors lock, the
system is on.
If you are working around your vehicle and keeping
your keys with you, you might want to turn the PKE
system off. If you don’t, the transmitter will keep
locking and unlocking your doors.

Do a search here in the forum for this topic has been discussed before. Don't give up. Unless the pke module is dead (behind central dash) it could just be 'asleep'.

Good luck!

Be sure and check fuses 26, 40 and 42. If those are OK you may have a failed receiver, that is somewhat common. It shouldn't have anything to do with a fob problem or having the system turned "off". Is the ignition a little lose? Like maybe when you turn off the key it isn't registering as still being all the way in? Just a thought.

Maybe the FOB isn't recognized by the car. There is a procedure in the owners manual. My PKE system works as designed.

My reply may have been a little harsh. I'm modifying it . The problem specified (lack of blinking light at the appropriate time) does not indicate a fob problem, because it happens before any interaction with the fob begins.

Gitusum, any update?
