C4 tops
Brand new to this site, only minutes old. I just bought a 1995 C4 targa. My 1st corvette. My question is if there is a film you can apply to the insde of the see through top to cut down the glare and heat or if somebody makes a solid top you can switch with if you want. Any info would be great and we are so glad we bought this car. We've only been looking for about 30 years.

They both have fiberglass tops as well as tinted. Actually the standard top for a 1995 Corvette was fiberglass painted to match the body. The tinted transparent top was an option. You could also order the Vette with both tops. You can check the sticker under your console lid to find out how your Vette was originally equipped. Fiberglass tops show up occasionally on the C4 parts for sale board or on ebay. There were 3 designs of targa roof mounts. You need a 3rd generation top that fits 1989-96. Good luck and enjoy your Vette!

depending on where you live i would go to a local tint shop and ask if they have the new thermal tint (i dont know its real name) i live in austin texas and my g/f just got her new car tinted in this new film from japan and it cuts out something like 99% of the heat and looks just like normal tint. she got 35% on her front windows and its amazing how much heat it keeps out in direct sunlight. they had a sample in the shop under a heat lamp and you couldnt put your hand under it w/o it and with the tint over it you could get within inches..just my .02 good luck and welcome
