Headlight help.

I own an 84 corvette. I'm having an issue with my headlights- the headlights go up and down, but the problem is that one of them does not stop running once it gets into position. The gears begin to grind. I had to unplug both in the on position, in order to save the the parts that do work. Any suggestions as to what it may be? A relay? Bad gears? I have no idea. Plz help.

order the gears , but order both the small and large cause till you take it apart you wont know which one you'll need. before I upgraded mine , the small gear on one ane the large gear on the other went bad, hope this helps, bob

Thank you, I'm 17 and my dad bought me the car as a gift on condition that I learn the thing like the back of my hand. is this a difficult process?

There is a limit switch in the motor that stops it. Yours is not working. These early ones are sort of a pain to fix, if you have the $$$ you can get a new one on ebay.

aight ill look it up. im def gonna upgrade the gears in the process of fixing it, and ill look up on this as well. appreciate the help man.
