Re: Driving a manual gets OLD QUICK! (Marty McFly)
My right knee is messed up from football already, it hurt with the auto as well. But the constant letting off/on, getting to the proper amount of gas at friction point, really takes a toll on it.
You shouldn't even NEED gas in stop/go traffic. Just let the clutch out smoothly and she'll go with the torque.
p.s.
If you want me to show you how to shift w/o the clutch, lemme know. :)
yer saying this
and here i am about to put my auto vette up for grabs
so i can get a 6speed vette.
now i'm confused :( do i get 6speed or not? majority of the cars i've driven in my life so far have been auto. only one stick and that was for about a week so i never got good at it.
Although all that own now is auto's, I have done most of my driving with standards. I never had any problem with rush hour & standard. I used to comute in bumper to bumper traffic into boston, so I had valid experiences. The only time that I really regretted standards was when I had muscle pulls.
I would like to try an M6 ( except for that 1st-4th thing). But if I'm gonna drag race, I want an auto. Also, broke my right shoulder a couple of years back....glad I didn't have a stick then or I wouldn't have been able to drive. As far as the M6 vs Auto debate is concerned, I just don't care...but I think fuel injection has just made fingers of us all. Carbs forever.

I let out on clutch and it gets all chuggy, and it isn't really smooth.
1. Corvettes are supposed to have manual transmissions (despite the seemingly valid rationalizations from the automatic transmissioned among us).

Then why does the Corvette C4 come standard with the Automatic, and the 6-speed is an option?
Ok I have bit the bug again.
I'm seriously thinking about buying another mid 80's vette.
For a daily driver. It would look awesome next to my 92. :)
Now I just gotta come up with some funds and I will be golden (probably take a while....:D:D:D)
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
