You don't need the air sanders for the color sanding. You can do it by hand with P1500 and P2000 grit wet sand paper. For the polisher, their is no need to go out and buy a $200 professional unit for one car. The $34.99 polisher from Harbor freight works quite well. It don't last long using it professionally, but they have save my *** a time or two when my good polish died.

Start with 1200-1500, go to 2000, then 2500 or 3000 with a sanding pad. The 2500-3000grit saves a lot of buffing time. Be very carefull on the edges (go away from them, not into them) and don't let the buffer sit and burn in any spot. A good idea is if you think youre getting close to burning, stop.
