Default power antenna

I need help with the power antenna on an 89 corvette. I have tried everything and still nothing. New antenna, new relay. When I bought the car someone had took out the bose and put in a pioneer. P2600. They cut most of the wires and wired in the radio, It works fine but I cant get the antenna to work. Any ideas would help a lot. Thanks, Don Or Email me at don6667@hotmail.com

if you can find a wire diagram for your present radio, it should have one marked antenna, on mine its blue, try connecting that to the power wire on your antenna.

There should be 2 pink wires behind radio. One energizes antenna relay, the other is for Bose amp relay. Your aftermarket radio should have an antenna power wire, as stated it may be blue. That wire needs to be connected to the correct pink wire. You have a 50% chance to get it right the first time.

Looked at your wiring, it's a blue/white wire.

check the ground, and make sure you also have juice from that wire.

when I hooked the blue /white wire to the pink I have power on the relay when I turn on the radio. Orange wire hot, pink wire hot, black wire not hot. The outgoing side is hot on white, green, and grey. Does that sound right? Thanks, Don

with power on, you should get battery voltage on the black wire also, thats your ground. something I noticed on mine, if the radio tuner wasnt on, but I had a cd in, and playing, the antenna doesnt operate, it only goes up when the tuner is working. mines an 87 so I'm really just guessing here, sorry.

The antenna relay ground is G401 located on the r/h "halo" near the top of the r/h seat.

Thats a good diagram but i still have no voltage on the black incoming wire to relay. That wire should have power when everything is turned on right? all the other wires are hot except the black incoming wire to relay. Any ideas? Thanks

Black is ground, it's never powered. The relay swaps + and - on the three wires, so the motor can run forwards and backwards.

I can jump the orange to white and the black ground to green and the antenna goes down. Does that mean the relay is bad. If so I just bought a new bad relay.

Doesn't tell me the relay is bad, would need more info.

When the radio is turned on, 12v is sent to antenna relay's coil(pink wire). The relay then sends power from orange wire to dark green and ground(black wire) to grey wire, causing the antenna motor to go up.

When the radio is turned off, the is no power to coil and the relay then sends power from orange to white wire and ground(black wire) to dark green wire, causing the antenna motor to go backwards and lower mast.

The 2 limit switches inside motor, turn off power to motor at end of travel.

Maybe this description and a test light will help you figure it out.
