Default Black Trim

Just had a crazy question and need some opinions.

I have an 87 red corvette that has the black trim. I'm more of a fan of the 91-96 vette that had the trim the same color as the car. Now my question is...........can that trim be replaced to match the color in this case red or can it be painted ? By doing so would i affect or hurt the value of the car ?

I just think the red trim makes it look more sleek and modern vs the black trim

thanks for any input.

Mask it off and use SEM to dye it. It won't look like the later cars because the molding is different -- but you probably know that. You can also remove/convert to the later style molding as shown by Jeff1167 in a current thread.

As far as value....It'll probably drop the value about the price of your dye!

BTW...When you run it down the road, rocks/debris will pit the dye and the black will start to show thru again. IOW, the front piece would need to be done periodically.
