Sure it's worth $40 - you're helping to support the NCM. The date at the top of it is not the day the car's production was completed. For your car's birthday, you have to order a data sheet from GM of Canada.
The SHIP TO data on the build sheet will let you find out service record data from that dealer, which helped me trace the first and 2nd owners, so I could get data on the mods they did.
Buy the GM extended drivetrain warranty - mine's paid for a new flywheel and is now paying for an engine repair or replacement! :)

To me it was worth it. I wanted to know about my car. Is the paper itself and the info worth $40? No but you help the NCM and they need to make a buck to stay open for guys like us. :chevy
Is it true there is a place under the hood is some custom little hole that the original build sheet can be obtained? Thought I read that on the http://www.40thregistry.com web site.
