Default C4 steering wheel evolution

I never drove the early pre-airbag wheel, but my '91 Caprice has the same shaped 2 spoke wheel as the 94-96 vettes. I like it because holding it by the sides of the center (air bag) section is comfortable on the highway.
However the 4 spoke wheel on my '91 vette is generally regarded as being more stylish (I agree). Any preferences?

Liked the thick padded one on the 89 the best, comfortble and easy to see all gauges. Hated my 90 wheel looked like a box

I kinda hate the 90 steering wheel too, I have a 97 camaro with a wheel that looks like a 94 up vettes sorta. Too bad GM had to add the camaro name to the air bag or I would put one in my 90 vette.

I always thought the 94+ bag looks like a butt in the driver's face. Not a fan.

Is the 94-96 vette wheel a direct swap onto the 90-93?

I think there is a difference in the clockspring connector

I did not like mine on an 1986 model and refurbishing was big $$, and I still would not like it. So I found a Grant Wheel on Ebay for 65$ had to buy an adapter from our local speed shop. But I think it looks better than original, see pic attached.

I have a 94 coupe, and I have always disliked my steering wheel. The design looks like it was made for Grandma's Buick not a Corvette. You think of all the great looking steering wheel on past Corvettes..and the designers came up with that design... I have often wondered it it would be possible with some modifications to install a C6 Z06 wheel to a C4 steering column. They both have air bags, but I'm not sure about the diameter of the steering columns..and such things as spline sizes and length. Anyone had any information on this?

At the time the Cavalier did not use the Corvette wheel. Today, the C6, Z06, ZR1 and C6R and the Cobalt use the same wheel.

Not bad for a $100,000+ Vette

I like the four post one in my 92. Don't think I'd care for the 94-96 style. I also dislike the 90s steering wheel because of them not matching the black on the steering wheel.

I know for sure that the horn buttons are junk on the 94-up. They are a clear plastic that cracks with age. If you take your wheel off, 50/50 chance you will need those parts.

I was always a fan of the regular vette wheel before airbags.

Don't forget the C3s that had the same steering wheel as the Vega!

Didn't actually like the one on my ,91. Too big and bulky for my taste in a sports car (plus was an easy way to drop 8 lbs).

I like the wheel style, but the color... not so much.

What's required to remove the airbag steering wheel? What did you do with the airbag stuff to keep the code gremlins away? I'd like to replace the fat blob in my car with something more sporty.
