Spark plugs? (pic)
I'm finally getting around to changing the plugs in my '88 (alum. head).
These are the plugs I took out.
Anyone see anything wrong with them?

I'd gap them and put them back in.

Do those have a tapered seat? My 87 uses plugs with crush washers.

Considering the cost of plugs I would install new ones.

Yeah they look like they are from 1988, and get hosed with water all the time.

For some reason I'm a tightwad when it comes to plugs.
Had one head off a couple weeks ago. Put it back together with the same plugs. Only had 26000 miles on them.

Iron head plugs. Mine had those when i bought it. The correct plugs made
a huge difference in how she runs.

Here's a pic of the Bosch plug I picked up as a replacement for the recommended AC FR3CLS plug compared to what came out of the motor.
I'm guessing the Bosch plugs are the right ones?
(At least they used anti-seize.)

Correct. I did not notice, you had alluminum heads. I was looking at the condition of the plugs. The old plugs would be correct for an 85 or early 86.

In addition to what everyone posted, I noticed they're Autolite spark plugs. Have any idea how long they were in the heads? Except for the rust, they look fine.

Either one is too long or one is too short....

There's kind of a lesson there. Although the reach of the old plugs is woefully wrong for the engine, they apparently (judging from the condition of the electrodes) functioned OK. So much for that **** retentive "got-to-be-just-right" syndrome.

Great googagly-moogaly!! Rusty!!
Those are some scary looking plugs. Electrodes show promise though. I hope the new Bosch plugs put a little more pep in your step.
