just got my wife our first Vette, 86' auto ...looking forward to dumping a bunch of money into it, which is expected. I have been in a few forums, and look forward to meeting you all. I can be mouthy at times , so just tell me to shut up if I get out of hand.
The person I purchased the car from stated that he had the plenum "upgraded" and had "larger" fuel injectors installed...but I noticed that the plugs look like they're frikin original (or atleast old)...so what would be the advantage of doing those things if everything else is stock?
The upgrade to the plenum may have been simple....a little grinding to remove some of the restrictions inside. Post pictures of the engine, and we can tell you if it looks stock on the upper end. If the engine is stock...no advantage to using a larger injector. Even with some major modifications....no advantage to a larger injector.
more probable the injectors got replaced due to modern fuels being hard on the early cars- whether or not they are stock or larger is hard to tell, but 22 lb stockers are probably good enough to support 350+ hp anyways.
