Hello, Having issues with my bose radio. If I smack the underneath passenger knee pad the radio will kick on. I have gotten my hand up in there and felt to be a box of some sort. what is that?? Next my blower motor is as slow as molassis in December running up hill! what do I need to look at to get these problems fixed? Thanks to all of you! Your help is greatly appreciated! Scott
The radio problem sounds like a relay problem. Above where you are hitting, is the Bose amp relay. Had the same problem with mine. It is buried up there, attached to the left side of dash support brace. I suggest you buy a new relay and replace the old one, by disconnecting the relay connector and plugging the new one in. Trying to unscrew the old one, is not worth the aggravation, unless you have a crash pad delete, as I do.
At the bottom left corner, through that opening, is the relay.
Pic showing wire colours.
If your curious about the glue on relay, it's because I opened it up and cleaned the points. Fixed for nothing.

A man after my own heart. I just love these guys that fix things. Bad relay?........Nah, just need to burnish some contacts. Good job you fearless troubleshooter.
The relay is behind crash pad, lower left corner. Just right of radio.
You need to pull the lower panel(one with the courtesy light) on passenger side and reach up through the wires and find the relay and connector. It's screwed to the left side of the dash support brace. Unplug connector and pull it down to where you can plug in the new one.
It may be accessible with radio removed, not sure, and it's a whole lot more work to get to that point.
