Overdrive pressure switch
Decided to change the filter and check/change fluid and fix the leak. Found that the fluid was very dark and dirty.
Reassembled the unit and took for a test drive and now I have no overdrive.
After reading other posts I put the car back up on ramps and dropped the pan again to look for possible disconnected pressure switch wire, plates that look like they are fried etc...
I found a couple things.
An o-ring was half way up/down on the post where the filter attaches
(not the big one on the filter). is this supposed to be there and if so
where ( high against the overdrive unit or low at the filter gasket).
Next I was going to check the pressure switch. I removed it and was going to check for continuity. I for no good reason blew on the threaded end and air escaped immediately on the opposite side of the switch thru a pin hole. Should it do this? Car still on ramps. Oh and if it matters, I still have reverse. I'm a simple minded sole so type slowly. TC
