flowmaster droan
Have a 94 with flowmasters, idel sound is nice and great performance but cruisen droan is killing me. Any suggestions on replacements and can I do mufflers only? The are all black mufflers and LT1 black tips previos owner says flowmaster but I cant match any like this on vett sites. Thanks to all

Your best bet is to find a stock exhaust system and put it back on your car.
You don't mention where you are located .............. a gentleman 3 posts down just took off his stock exhaust and installed a new corsa system .... he would be a perfect candidate for someone looking to get rid of their stock system.

Most people have gone to Corsas due to this drone. You could buy a LT4resonator that somebody is not using or a corsa resonator. The problem is "nobody i.e. the mfgrs)"sells these seperate so you would need to see if someone is parting out a LT4 car or has a corsa system with no resonator because they went to an X pipe or something else. I have a Corsa resonator in excellent shape in my attic (Damn near new) but I wont be back in town until 20 August

Went to Flowmaster Catback. Problem solved.

I installed a FlowMaster Series 50 Cat-back on my stock 88, L98. No drone at all. I even switched from the 2.59 rear to 3.07 rear and the difference in RPM did not cause any drone.

Any muffler shop will remove them. Just have them do pipes to what ever tips you like and run no mufflers at all. You still have your resonator which keeps the noise down along with good back pressure but you will have a nice sound. Do a search and you will see many posts about this. I also had flowmasters and when I took them off, what a difference. No drone and a great sound. The muffler shop had some C6 take off mufflers so he cut off the C6 tips and welded them on mine. Looks and sounds great. The muffler shop can let you drive the car with out the mufflers after they remove the flowmasters so you can hear it. It's well worth it and inexpensive.
