was at a car club show today and this guy pulls up in a 1990 what looks to be a zr1..the only badges on the whole car are the rear zr1 badge and the full face bra he had on the car with zr1 ( which looked to be home made)...but on the side front fender it said tuned port injection...now if that was a real zr1 would it of had the tuned port injection on the front fenders?...btw he had 95 base corvette wheels on the car as well
if they wont pop the hood ,you can look at the radio antenna location, quarter panel shape, doors at the rear , if it was base wheels, I'd bet real money on it not being a 'real' z, dont think base wheels will fill the wheel wells.
The zr1 should have a big ol' booty. Every possible option will be on the car...and that work of art is under the hood.
A badge means NOTHING!
Some jackball had a ZR1 badge on my LT1
2 simple things if it's a 1990
1) If it has round tail lights it's not a Z
2) If it's a Z there will be a space between the license plate and the reverse lights. On a normal coupe or vert, there is no space between the reverse lights and license plate.
thanks for the answers...it was hard to tell from looking into the car..it was locked..and he had a steering wheel cover that hid the gauges as well as a dash cover as well..the *** end tail lights were square and not round..the hood was not popped..and i know what the engine looks like compared to the lt-1..what just got me was the fact it said tund port on the side..i never really noticed that before on the zr1 cars..
