Guys: I just pulled this code, which appears to be Electronic Spark Control Error. I did a search and couldn't find anything here about this code. 90K miles with aluminum heads(stock) and a newly installed true dual exhaust with no cats. So far, I have removed the air pump system. I have also cleaned out the TB. I still haven't done the correct idle setting procedure, so it still varies between 7 and 10 in neutral. Anyway, it hesitates slightly off idle but runs very well otherwise at various levels of throttle. Improves significantly when warm, with respect to hesitation. Can anyone start me down this road to where I might need to look to correct this code 43? I have yet to pull the distributor and re-set it, as it's off by 180 degrees. Firing order is correct, just wires all over the place (need to replace those as well). I do have them separated from one another. I know there is a module in the dist that usually gets replaced when going though that. Let me know your thoughts and ideas. Thanks!
Code 43 means the ECM has been low voltage at CKT 485 terminal B7 for longer than 4 seconds with the engine running.
1. Check to see if the ECM recongnizes a problem.
2. This will determine if the system is functioning at this time.
3. The ESC module supplies voltage to the ECM. It should always be over 6 volts unless the system is sensing engine detonation.
4. Check for intermittent ESC opertion. If the volyage is now over 6 volts it is a faulty ESC terminal "C" connection or ESC module.
5. Check for grounded ECM.
6. Check for open ignition circuit.
Trouble shooting error code you just about need the shop manual. You can get them on ebay. Hope this helps.
