hood damage with pics

Sorry about your misfortune, but at least you found a hood. I recently had to deal with nose and hood damage on my 85. The insurance adjuster quoted over $4000 for the repair and it was just paint work and the replacement of the front rub strip.
Did you say you were from Long Island? I took the car to Motorcar Collision in Ronkonoma for the paint work. They did an awesome job on paint and reassembly. Ask for Ronny or John and they'll hook you up.

Getting a REAL good deal from someone I know..actually worth doing now as opposed to the 8000.00 estimates I've gotten from several places..thought I would never do it..

I know to get to this point hasn't been easy but glad things are working out and saving money will make all the hassle worth it. Like everyone else I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project. Its kind of funny this is one of those threads I look forward to the up dates. Good luck.

Talked to the painter the other day, coming to see the car on Monday then I'll get it to him as soon as possible. My concern was a place to let the paint cure as the garage isn't empty yet, he'll keep it in the shop for a week..nice. Too bad once its painted I'm going to be very carefull where I park it, so I won't be driving it as much..and it will never see a parking lot again unless I'm right near it..not going through this again.

yup...hey maybe you would know. Need the bushings that go on the long shaft that the whole headlight spins on..think they are called the linkage bushings..replaced the motor bushings but they still flop around looks like the bushings are shot. I replaced them once already with aftermarket ones..which of course don't work too well.
these are the ones I bought but they didn't work too well:

Finally got it to the painter and he already has it all apart and sanded..working on the front bumper which was in crap shape..needs new door weatherstrips..which I just happen to have lying around and window moldings.....could use a rear bumper as this one has a weird imperfection in the middle..its a little bowed out..can't find one for a decent price though..not spending another 600.00 on it..ah well..

Such a great story! I laughed...I cried... I see a movie deal in the near future. Glad everything worked out for you. Looking forward to the pics when it comes out of paint.
