Default Question - Headlight Conversion From Corvette Central

Has anyone used either of the following headlight conversions from Corvette Central?

http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000050f~Z5 Z5Z524240~P69.95~~~~S3AV12635A2474102542 4d~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000050F

They appear to be a way to convert to a more modern and brighter headlight.
Any experience with, or opinions about either of these two products?

Thanks,
-Ward

I used the same lights in my 1993. They did make it brighter. I have been using them for 3 years with no problems.

I've been looking into kits like this and I haven't heard any complaints about them besides it being a little bit of a pain to get the lined up.

That's a hell of a price though!

I purchased a set that was very similar. When I went to install them I found that the hole in the "pots" or "baskets" in my 90 was too small to allow the neck of the new housing to fit through. Originally the hole only had to allow enough clearance for the plug on the back of the sealed beam light. I used a sabre saw with a metal cutting blade to enlarge the hole to about 3". Otherwise everything fit fine.
Just a thought to think about while thinking about it
Kindest regards
Pop

FYI, I have always found Corvette Central to be a bit high priced but I just checked MidAmerica and they are the same price. I say, Go for it!

I know you were very specific about this particuliar conversion kit from Corvette Central BUT....there are other abeit more expensive (maybe $100 to $130) Hella E-code conversions that you may want to consider. I have them in my ride for about 10 yrs ..no problems and they do a great job. There are a lot of posts on this subject...do a search for more specific info if interested. Or reply and I can supply a vendor, etc.

Had a very unsatisfactory experience with a set that were on the low end of the cost scale. Ended up giving them away. Went to Silver Stars .

I bought mine auto zone 6 yrs. ago. had to turn one upside down. I think they glued the lens on wrong. Light weight compared to glass. the originals chrome peeled on the inside. made a world of difference at night. Got the bulbs at wallyworld. cheaper all the way around.
