Default Sold the vette

I sold my 86 coupe with 126k miles on it last week. A local guy bought it for $5500.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...-the-lake.html

Unfortunately I needed something a little more practical for my work but I think that I will be back someday. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has helped me over the last 2 years. It really is a brotherhood and I really hope to rejoin the fold someday when circumstances permit.

2 months without mine while I was here in Italy almost killed me.

Good luck and hope to see you again soon.

Sorry to hear you had to let it go. I remember when you posted those pictures and that was one sweet looking vette. The person that bought it got a nice looking car and should be very happy now. Hope it's not to long before you have another one and your back here on the Forum.

Your Vette was nice.

$5,500 is a decent price

I think I did pretty well. It took about 4 months to sell and I wasn't in a hurry. Honestly I didn't even post it in the for sale section because I knew I wouldn't get $5500 for it.

Well, "Five-Oh" went through the same thing, and after about a year he's back in a Vette. Buy yourself a tank for the winter months and keep your eyes open for another Vette for springtime! And owning a Vette is NOT a requirement for hanging out here so stay in touch.

I didn't advertise mine here either. Too much flack from the peanut gallery, plus it's always best to give the local market a shot. Mine took 3 months to sell. It would have gone sooner, but I couldn't find anybody with money- bunch of broke azz joy-riders who were all more than a $1000 short.

Someone got a real nice vette at a decent price. Owning a vette is not a requirement to hang around here as was pointed out, so pop in from time to time.

True. And I hung out here while driving a miata. And they let me have my mancard back when I got another vette.

Here's a suggestion for those who decide to sell their Vette - and Igolson if it's not too late.

Make sure the buyer has your number - perhaps a business card, a mutual friend, whatever. Ask them - if THEY decide to sell - to call you first. Obviously you're under no obligation to buy it back but just maybe your situation will have changed. And they're under no obligation to call either, of course. But what can it hurt?

I've done that on several of my "wanna keep but can't" vehicles. I just sold a '52 chevy truck for the second time with that request. The first time, the new owner refused to sell it to people that offered him more money. Said when he had to let it go, it would return to someone that cared about it.lol

I hope you meant to say "would be joy riders" and I know what you mean. That type of waste of time is pretty annoying.

I usually go the route of "cash in hand for test drive" in my ads. Eliminates a lot of dreamers and general horsesh!+
