Default production dates for 91 C4

The date inside the door of my car says it was built in October 1990. Not that it matters for much but I am wondering when the first 91 models rolled out of the factory. I would think august or so but can't seem to find any info.

i'm not 100% positive on this, but i always thought the line was on some sort of shutdown for 2 weeks, last week of june, first week of july, for model year changeover. i would think the first 91's would be rolling off the line the second week of july 1990.

well that blows my theory out of the water - i'm thinking if yours is one of the last 500, it must have been built close to the last week of production. production for 91 was 20639 units over about 50 weeks, that would be slightly over 400 per week or based on 5 days, and an even distribution or steady production run. that would be about 80 cars per day.

You have a 91 model (vehicle registration and VIN) it means it came out any time between
the 90 and 92 models production.

Your Vette looks like a 92 but it has the L98 engine and round exhaust tail pipes.

Please dont think about the possibility for it to be a 90, its not.

I really need to get to that museum someday. It's only about two hours away and I have driven by several times.
Thanks for all the replies, I just wondered how early in the production year my car was.

there is a site where you punch in your VIN number, and it list all the RPO, and defines the rarity of your partiular car - not that means much, because it list every meaningless detail about the subject car. BUT, if i recall, it also lists the production date of the car. i had this bookmarked, but can't seem to find it. i originally got it on this forum, and maybe someone here knows, and can post the site.

The one everyone was listing here "compnine.com" has closed down and no longer available.

If anyone is really interested, the Corvette Museum can supply reproduction Build Sheets and Window Stickers.
They will be exact duplicates of the originals, and have all the information you would ever want.

Just revived this thread to let anyone interested know that I found the "compnine.com" website up and running, and plugging in my VIN gave me the RPO and the Production Date.
