Knock Sensor or Coolant Temp Sensor they are on the left and right of the block near the spark plugs.

Passenger side is about halfway back on the block.
Drivers side is about 1/4 way back on the block.

First, I know by your other threads, your car seems to have all sorts of "custom" wiring

But to really help, you need to update your profile to show the year of your car or at least state the year of the car in the thread. Not all C4's have the same wiring harnesses as they may have different wires based on the year of the car and possibly certain options.

How long is the wire? Where does the wire originate or come out of a protective loom? It looks like the wire is green, right? A pic of the area where the wire originates will help too.

This could be a wire to the auxiliary fan (RPO KC4) which was part of the early Z51 or Z52 suspension packages. If the fan isn't there (it will be under the car in front of the A/C condenser) somebody could have removed it and simply relocated the wire. Is there a single wire going to the main fan? Does the main fan work?

I just update my profile. you are right. I first open my CF account, before I had my vette. and forget to update. after.

the wire is long a go from left side of engine to the right side. I know is have to be plug some where in the radiator right side. or very close to that general area.

the radiator fan working ok

The sensor on my 89 is just under the top radiator hose inlet. Maybe down 2 inches.

the only sensor near the spark plug on the dirver side is, the radietor fan sensor. but my 1986 vette dont have that sensor. insted. the sensor is instal in front and just under the intake planium .

My model only came with one fan on the radiator. that sensor you are talking about is for those car that have the 2 fan on the radiator.

The low coolant sensor will be on the right side of the radiator. These pics are of my 87. Note that the wire on my car is green and the connector is the same as in your pic.
