My digital readout. In any mode. Every 30 to 60 seconds dissapears and sys. Flashes then the readout goes back to normal. Then it does it again in 30 to 60 seconds
We'll assume it's a C4 and your talking about the digital dash?
If so it may be the light sensor going bad or the more likely case a bad ground internal to the gauges.
You can test if its the light sensor by placing something over it to keep it in night mode, should stay bright. Then remove the light block and see if it changes to just slight dimmer. If your losing all light and its so dim it almost impossible to see during the day it's probably a bad ground inside the unit. Do the blinkers or brights indicators ever just come on randomly when this happens?

What year is your car?
Always include all the information you can, since not all C4's are the same.
The most likely cause of SYS flashing as you describe is a low battery.
The "sys" flashing usually means the CCM (not ECM) has stored a code. There is a procedure for reading codes through the trip monitor buttons, no scanner needed. See Chapter 8D of the correct year FSM.
Please try the search function first. Many dash issues have been discussed here ad nauseum. Batee.com is a great resource for many early C4 Corvette issues and is probly the best place for digi dash info.
Whoops, just read another of your posts and saw you have a 94. Batee wont help you but seacrh here will.
Good luck with it!

If SYS flashes on the display near your fuel gauge, there may be a problem withyour Corvette’s electrical system.
As mentioned, it means there is some type of electrical system issue.
Have your battery load tested, as a discharged battery is the most likely cause of that flashing light.
Sorry, i did a search, and i should have mentioned, i had a sony stereo installed yesterday. First off my car did not have the bose system it had the cheap delco tape player, i also changed the speakers and used the wireing harness that crutchfield sent me. All the other posts talk about putting two resistoers between two wires, but they all talk about the bose system which mine is not. I am not great with wireing diagrams. Could someone please tell me what color wires get the resistors. Orcan i just disconnect the new stereo dimmer wire if there is one
Okay, full day of fun with the Vette. From what I can gathere from the multiple posts I have found on the install of a new stereo head unit. First off all of them I found talked about the Bose system, and I had the Delco crappy tape deck. I did pull up the wire schematic of my stereo.
From the posts it seems the problems come from two wires that are not used on the new stereos, the LED wire and the LCD wire, these need to get power so the computer does not go nuts. Mine two wires should be Red/white and Orange. I need to hook up a resistor to each and then hook them to the keyed power.
Is that what I need? I am having the stereo shop do this on Monday as they did the original install last week and I reall do not have the time this weekend.
Until then I will have the sys flashing off and on. Will this in any way drain my battery or am I safe until then, other than the annoyance?
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
