Default c4 1985 corvette poor running, engine dying

I was doing some minor repairs on the car (changing the head cover gaskets when after the repair the engine would start, run poorly and die if not for keeping the throttle open. I discovered that the leads that belong to the radio capacitor filter were frayed and shorting. I opened the distributor and put a new part. No help. Changed igniter and coil. Still no help. I have a new pump and fuel filter. There were no error codes in the computer. Any sugestions? Thanks, Joe.

1) Check to be sure that all hoses are hooked up. Be sure to check the one under the plenum, it "T's" off and up to the plenum.
2) Check TPS setting, it should be at .54 volts with the key in the on position car not running.
3) check AIC.
4) Will the car actually start now but then die? Check fuel pressure.
5) If the car is not starting, check for spark.
6) Are you sure that you reconnected all the wires you disconnected correctly?

If it was good when you started, then odds are it is something you touched.

Re do the job step by step and as mentioned above check your lines. Im guessing a vacume leak.

Can you keep it running if you give it gas?

Yes, it runs, though very rough. I am inclined to think electrical problem because of the finding that the wires in the distributor that belong to the radio capacitor filter were all shorted.

I have good fuel pressure. No problems starting, but I have to give it gas to keep it running.
Runs very rough when running, some secondary explosions are frequent. Several years ago, the mass air flow sensor was bad and it run same way, very rough. Had to give it gas to keep it running.

Also check your injector clip harnesses to see if they are all snapped on snug. You may have pulled one off partially.
