Default Code reader and scanner

Hi my name is Bud,i have 95 C4 with the LT1 engine. when I start off cold it coughs and sputters and has no power. after driving a little ways and it goes into close loop it smoths out and runs great. On ocasions it will cough back on exceleration. I waht to get a code reader and scanner that will help me with my problem. I dont know what will be the best one to get. what would be the best make and model,where to purchase?

1995 is a tough call why? 95 was OBD 1 and 96 was OBD2 but some 95;s had OBD 2 hook up. If I were you I would go to auto zone and ask to have your car scaned for free then ask for a price on a cheep tester that would do the same thing a google search may help also good luck

Thanks for the info. I will try that. I wont get to it be able to get to it until after the holidays but will shortly there after.

You can access the codes on your 95 by using the on board computer.
