Can we pick or trade mods for generation sections or vote people in like sports teams or Office? I think that would bring life back to the forum and and really liven things up here a bit. I think it would make life for the mods interesting also.

Maybe I will get flamed for this but just thinking of new ways to improve this place that I and many love so much. Wondering what people think of this kind of thinking?

This was just a suggestion, but I see many are happy just the way it is here and like to complain everywhere else about it rather than figure out a way to fix it.

Go figure. Sit back and do nothing then complain about things.

Might as well close this one up guys.

Maybe that is why I asked for it to be closed??? I can see this is a waste of time to try this.

What is the criteria you are using to judge a change would be beneficial and how would it change?

I'm sure that decision would have to be run past the mods....

I'm not sure I understand how or what the issue is, and therefore a bit of a loss as to how changing mods would ?? to improve "this place". Are you suggesting the mods should be more like (for lack of better term) cheerleaders of sorts? (Hmmmm... Come to think of it, that's maybe not a bad idea, I suppose.)

I hope I'm not putting words in your mouth, but I can say that most of those of us that frequent other Corvette sites have come to know (by comparison) the administration of this site to be, let's say "a bit rigid" and/or sometimes overbearing (to say the least).

And, it is obvious that most on here feel it too. Why else would there be so many references to IBTL! I've never seen another Corvette site where IBTL references are so often seen as they are here!!! Kinda feel like walking on eggshells, round here sometimes. That is the one thing I find uncomfortable 'bout being here. (Could it be your somewhat vague opening of this thread and then wanting to duck out of it be testimony to what I've just written (and many others thinking)?

I don't believe it is the mods that make it so, but more the nature of the circumstances - that being the site was sold and now in the possession and explicit direction of a consortium of the supporting vendors - NOT an independent Corvette enthusiasts "club", so to speak. The people that come here are (for the most part) great, and willing to share and help others with our passion for Corvettes. But, I can't ever shake the feeling of "conditional acceptance"; like knowing there are armed guards in the towers posted around the site - always scrutinizing, always ready to pull the trigger without any recourse or discussion. JMO.

Sounds like I'm dissing the site. Not so. It is a helluva lot of work to police and maintain. I give it high marks and thanks to the admins and mods for a sometimes thankless job. And, I support them 100% when it comes to personal flaming. I just wish sometimes they would take a chill pill - be more judicious before locking threads. I say again: I've never visited a site where IBTL is referenced AND DONE anywhere near as often as it seems to be here.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm just sayin'!
