Default LT4 "sys" error code and fix

Has anyone encountered this error message on the LT4's before? If so, what was the fix?

Not LT4, but my LT1 did that when the battery was going belly up. New battery solved the problem. Is your charging system working OK?

Check your battery cables as well.

I'll check, thanks. I have it on a battery tender right now so it could be the problem. I'm not sure of the age of the battery.

New battery solved that problem on my LT4.

The owners manual tells you that a flashing SYS may be a problem with your Corvette's electrical system.
In most of those cases, the problem is a low battery.

Have any of you changed your battery DIY? How hard is it to do?

Loosen the drivers side fender. Torx bolts on the inner fender skirt, and a 10 mm bolt underneath (use a slim open ended wrench). You can then move the fender out of the way far enough for the battery to come out from the side.

Same here.. once the Blose is gone apparently any aftermarket system will cause this. There is a solution which involves soldering a resistor into one of the wires.. the info is in the Audio/ Electronics part of the forum.

In light of the battery issue, what do any of you recommend I use, what's worked well for you?

Just about any top name brand battery will be fine.
Hard to give an example of the "best", as it comes down to personal preference.

Do some searches on batteries, and you'll find plenty of differing opinions.

Here are a few quick searches.
