Default 94 coupe wheel choice

Need some advice;
currently have stock saw blades, 17X9.5 rear with 285/40/17, 17X8.5 front with 255/45/17. Want to install American Racing 17X10.5 Torq Thrust M's all around, (+44mm offset, 7.5 back spacing), with my 285/40/17's on the front,and new 315/35/17's on the rear. I have used the search feature, but found no reference to this wheel size.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback regarding the feasibility of running this torq thrust M wheel configuration.

Thanks,
Jumbo

I responded over at your first post in the ZR-1 section! What brand tires? All 315's aren't created equal!!!

7.5 back spacing with 17x11 is what my mesh wheels are for my 87, on yours with that 44 offset do you think they'll stick out? your hubs sit out about an inch further than mine

315/35s are 25.68" tall... 285/40s are 25.97 tall... wouldn't want my front tires significantly taller than my rears and I'd consider almost 1/3" significant.

I would run 275/40s up front.

Just my 2 cents!

Oldalaskaman;

Thanks for the info. I have noticed you personally provide alot of help to other forum members, thanks again. I am basically trying to find a reasonably priced set of wheels that will allow me to utilize my existing285/40/17's on the front and new 315/35/17's on the rear, without spacers. looking for old school look, thus the Torq Thrust preference. Seems like custom wheels are required, but I see so many great looking wheels on the C4 forum.

Jon1all;

understood, but I already own the 285/40/17's. Thanks for the feedback.

Regards,
Jumbo

285-275 not a difference that will affect any thing, if you could test fit prior to buying you'ld be ahead. I put C5 ZO6 sizes on my 87 and only needed a spacer 3\4" for the rears. alot depends on the wheel itself and the maker. if you could post the wheels that you are interested in , chances are someone here may be able to help more, there's alot of custom wheels on these cars.....I was just looking at those wheels, the best folks to ask your question would be American Racing wheels, they more than anyone would know what would work on your car. BTW those are nice

Check out this place. I just got some 18" C6 zr1 rims for like $480. They have over 180 different wheels for 88 and up Corvettes.
