hi I just bought my first corvette it is a 1995. the person I bought it from took very poor care of it. I am trying to get it rite. my first question is the doors were replaced and I ordered used door panels for a 1995 they do not fit right the hole don't line up how do I tell what year doors I have on them? and will all panels work for a C4. thanks alot I am wanting to do the entire interior but until I get the doors right I can't. thanks
I believe the doors should be the same. Which holes aren't lining up? Did the old panels and the new panels have the glove box in the arm rest? A lot of times, people will add holes (screws) to fix warpage problems.
There are three door styles, 84-89, 90-93 and 94-96 (coupe and conv.). Yo can loo here to try and see which group you have (enter "door panel" in the desc field)
Those holes on the bottom don't have the factory pop-in rivets.
The top of the panel should hang over the raised sill along the frame of the actual door.
From what I'm seeing in the pics, those are correct panels for the car, if the top of the door panel is not lining up with the sill that runs along the frame of the door itself then they are warped -- something that can be easily fixed if that's the case but requires some work.
Otherwise if you don't want to fix it yourself you'll have to buy new ones which are roughly $400-500 each :/
I was told that they are possibly 90-93 but I don't know if I get those panels will they be the same as 95. yes they both have the compartment in the armrest, but the ones that where on it when I bought it were really warped so I couldn't tell if they lined up
Ok now all that's left is do you want to fix them?
If so, I would suggest starting with the top first. Get a light and check to see if those sills are lining up over each other.
If you try to force them to fit, then they are warped. They may not look like it but they are if they don't go on easy.
From there you need to go down to Lowe's or a hardware store and buy some corner brackets. (I believe they need to be 1/4" or smaller)
Once you get those, take a look at your door frame and note the 5 bolts running across the top of the frame where the window comes out of. There will be 3 that are bolted from the sill to the frame and 2 that are bolted to a soft cushion to protect the window.
You need to remove 2 of the 3 bolts that I mentioned above, but NOT the ones holding the fuzzy cushion for the windows. If you try to remove those you will definitely drop the nut on the other end down inside the door and it will be gone.
After you've removed 1 or 2 of the bolts, set your corner brackets so that the end that sticks out is pointing towards your car, NOT towards the window or it will scratch the windows.
Line up the corner bracket so that you can use the old bolt to hold it in place and tighten it down. After the corner bracket is bolted to the frame you may need to bend it towards your car to get the end sticking up to hook over the door panel.
If it hooks up properly, the door panel will be better than new. All you need to do after the top is in place is to put those rivets along the bottom in and it should be perfect.
The way they were designed from the factory was bad engineering and its very common for them to come loose.

Those are the correct panels for a 95. They use a push in plastic "button" in place of the screws of earlier panels, along the bottom. So they don't use the plastic insert that holds the screw in earlier panels, that's why they have the big holes. The "button" is slightlly bigger than the ones you can buy at the parts store in the packets. While there are slight differences in the different doors , they all will work.
