window washer tank
new c-4 owner here. (1989)
car is in very nice shape. been having much fun with it.
fixed a few little things. replaced wipers, top stop lights, things.
been looking over this site and getting ideas for a week.
LOTS of good info from you people.
anyway i did a search and found nothing adddressing my next project.
filled up window washer tannk. it emptied on my foot. either very bad leak or crack,
or more likely hose not connecdted/rotted. looking at its position and not wanting to remove fire wall and heater motor and all sorta stuff....help.
looks like if inner fender is removed might be able to wiggel it out. any tips or tricks? i dont want to do something i should not.
just like changing brake light bulbs. my logic was to pry on the slot in the lense. nope. would have broke it.
this site told me of two hidden torex screws with hatch open. then two phillips. replaced all 4 bulbs with no damage.
sooo, suggestions? take off inner fender? slide it out to the front?
thanks. great site.

also have dim dash lights at speedometer. looks like a no fun deal there.
was out till i tapped lense. now on but weak...not like blown bulb.
You need to take the fender panel off (the one behind the front wheel with the vents in it). It's very easy to get out if you know the trick. There is a 10mm bolt at the top and a hidden 10mm bolt at the bottom. You don't need to take the bottom one out, just loosen it. The panel is slotted at the bottom and slips out. You need a T-30 Torx to take out the three wheel well bolts.
There is no way to get to the inner bolts that hold the tank to the firewall except by removing the rear wheel well. There are some bolts on the bottom that go into the frame, so watch out for those.
After you get the tank out, the pump is on the bottom. There is a plastic "bag" around it to protect it from water. I don't know exactly how the pump is held in place. I think there is a plastic nut on the inside of the tank. Mine wasn't leaking so I didn't go into that area.
