Default ABS/LTWPS issues

I have a 91' and the ABS light has been on since I've bought the car. The ABS pump doesn't buzz or anything when the car is turned on like my 88' did. From time to time, the LTWPS light also comes on. It's pretty random.

I pulled the ABS codes and got 12, 75, 12. What is code 75 for ABS?

When I pull codes from A-B, CEL repeats 12, 12, 12, 12, etc

But the LTWPS flashes "54" over and over. Any help on this too?

Thanks

54 is a right front sensor fault. You will need to replace it

ABS code 75 is Lateral Accelerometer Wiring Fault.

Not sure on the LTWPS. I'd get rid of that BS.

75 is a problem with the laterial accelerometer that is shorted or open you need to replace it.

I doubt it is still in the GM system. Ebay, Corvette salvage yards are your best bet. Once you get to it, it is easy to replace.

PM forum member WEBURKE I think he had an accelerometer for sale for a 91 but that was a while back. As Rubie states NLA however it is plug in and go. The LTPWS bands are HTF especailly NEW most are avialable on Ebay second hand or here in the forum. You will need a black bodied with a blue sensor label if my memory serves me correctly. Do not buy the white bodied sensor.

Tell Bill goldcylon sent ya

Update: So I replaced the lateral accelerometer with a different one, and the light is still on.

I can hear the ABS pump "click" when I turn the key to on, is this normal? My 88' make a groaning noise.

I never hear my 93 click when I go to key on, just FX3 shocks doing their thing and my fuel pump. At about 3-4MPH it does a self-test.

What is the code now?

Only reason I can hear it click is because i opened the compartment and took the insulation out. It's not noticeable when driving with the compartment shut.

Same ABS code as before. We bought an ohm tester and both lateral accelerometers appear to be fine.

The most common problem with the ABS is dirty sensors at the wheels. There are magnetized and the road debris will stick to these. You have the code right there, this thing is telling you whats wrong.

You might need to ohm check the wiring from the EBTCM to the Sensor. I think it is three wires?
