Greetings, the MPH electronic display does not work, all other display gauges are working. I just now get a check engine light and when I checked the error code it says "no vehicle speed signal recieved", coule it be that the vehicle speed sensor is bad or is it the wiring from the VSS to the ECM?
If you have no reading on the dash gauge it is either the speed sensor in the tranny or the wiring between the tranny and the dash. The VSS feeds the dash and the dash feeds the ECM.
is there a simple way to check where the problem is? i am not good with wiring situations, should i replace the vss to see if that is the problem, not sure what my next steps should be
update, as I was driving today the MPH gauge actually worked for a few minutes, it was fluctuating and then it stopped again. this happen twice Do you think it could be a wiring issue or is the VSS bad?
More likely an intermittent problem in the instrument cluster. They are well known for having solder joints go bad over time. There are some threads here on repairing the cluster.

Greetings my corvette family, after driving a short distance and then idle, my 1984 vette rpms start to range from 1400 to 1700 rpms. is it possible to adjust the rpms to a lower setting, if so, how do i do it?

Could you please showme the link to any thread regarding this issue for a 92?
I am and Have been having a similar issue for about a year now...
The speedo and gas gauge turn on and off, and the tach seems to be reading inaccurate. all the other gauges work fine as well as the back lighting. It has gotten progressively worse, I used to be able to smack the dash or push on the gauges and it would work for awhile. then I started getting "SYS" flashing in the MPH area. (when it was working) I thought it was a connection issue so I pulled it all out and cleaned all the connections and made sure everything was tight but no luck.
OK, everybody asking here can go to batee.com and look at his Corvette repair section. Sorry Corvetero, this wont apply to you because its for the Atari dash only. After looking at the wiring diagrams, find which pin that connects the dash has the speed function and check it with a DVM to see if you have a steady voltage coming in. Not sure what the range is (thats what the website is for) and you may actually have to be moving to get a reading. I dunno, this was not an issue I faced. If you do have your reading, check again and see which pin on the 10 pin molex connector between the PCB's relays speed function from one to another and you can maybe spot a bad solder joint or bad pin connections. I had a problem with my lighting and I actually soldered a jumper wire around this connector.
Heres your link. Take time to click a couple of the ads as Brian gets paid and it helps keep the website up.
