Just curious why you bought a C4. I like the body style and interior and
it fell perfectly within my money limit I was willing to spend. I am fully
enjoying my C4.
I wanted one back in the day, and it took until middle age to afford one. It was a toss up between a C4 for it's interior and C3 for it's styling, but every C3 I've looked at has been rusted out, needing more restoration than I can handle.

The C4 was brand new when I was in college. A rather spoiled buddy of mine bought one brand new. One drive and I was hooked. He wadded the car up in a spectacular fashion a few months later....I coulda killed him.
I grew up loving the C3, and will probably buy a nice specimen at some point, but the C4 has just caputured and held me since day 1. I've driven a handful of C5's....they'll run circles around most C4's and they're very affordable now, but they just don't have that same visceral sensation of the C4. To me the C4 was the last "muscle car" feeling Vette.
My first choice would have beed a 59 but way out of budget second choice a midyear C4 from involvment on the callaways.

This is the one I always wanted just can't afford it. Very happy with
my 91. Maybe the 67 will happen someday. I love that color and the 427

-Suspension potential at the time
-Clam shell hood
-sit down in the car
-Wider wheels and tires fit easier
-The verts can be made pretty rigid
-The L98 has so many options of how to build but still FI
-Price
-No rust
Best car for the value. I live in a Ford family, but we have always loved Corvettes because Ford nor Chrysler makes anything like the Corvette. Sure, there is a Ford GT and Dodge Viper but look at the price of those!!
For me, the C4 was the target because it was in my price range. In my mind, any year corvette is a great bang for the buck depending on your budget. Nothing else really comes close to the performance and handling for the money. It's a fantastic car and is fairly easy to work on in my opinion.
When I retired from the Air Force in 1985 I wanted a new vette. At the time I could not afford one so now that I am a semi-retired old fart (66 years young) I decided to get a C4 like I wanted way back when. Sort of feel in love, or was it lust, for the body and still believe it is the best.
budget was definitely a factor. but I went with a '96 because it incorporates the muscle and badass-style of the older C's, with the some of the modern upgrades and gadgets of the newer C's.
C4 is also one of the most recognizable corvette generations out there - even when an idiot sees one on the road, there's no doubt that it's a CORVETTE....
I had it narrowed down to a C4 or C5 , both of my daughters said they thought the C4 looked cooler then the C5. If 2 teenage girls think it looks cool how could an old man go wrong.......Im cool now...........WW
I bought my 1992 because I like the C4 styling and the way the C4 feels when driving it. I like the raw performance of my 2002 Z06 but it does not feel like the C4.
