So I was lucky enough to score some Baer calipers for a good price. I also bought a set of drilled and slotted rotors from a forum vendor. Enjoy the bling.
Along the same lines......I upgraded my wheels on my 84 from the factory 16" to 17" ..........is it worth upgrading the rotors and calipers as well?? I am not very satisfied with the stopping power. I really doubt I could lock the wheels up if i had to. I have replaced the master and had the pads replaced with ceramics. It helped a little. Is the gain vs expense worth it??

I would say yes. I only have $300 invested here but you can go with the J55 option or C5 upgrade depending on what you want to do with the car.

FYI, the 84 "uprights" are very small in the casting area around the mounting lugs for the calipers and they are also spaced differently from the 85 and later cars. To do pretty much any brake upgrade, you'll need to get a pair of uprights from an 85-87 car and install them along with your brake upgrade. I went through researching all that when I had my 84. It's extra work and cost, but it's still worth doing.
