wax

I started using NXT also. I don't use the orbital buffer, but the results are good.
This is the easiest wax to use that I have ever tried. The longer it sits, the easier it is too wipe off, so you can do the whole car before you start wiping it off.
I also noticed that bugs simply wash off easily without having to work at them.
I use Zaino on the car that I show. It requires that the paint be CLEAN before you put it on because it's just wax, no cleaners or other stuff. This is the easiest wax to put on and take off that I have ever used. I buy it directly from Zaino, but I have seen it in some of the Corvette catalogs.

It is a polymer (read: chemical polish), not to be cornfoozed with...wax (
).Have you tried his "Clear Seal" yet? I did the paint prep and then a couple Z5s (w/ accellerator and Z6 in between coats) and the next weekend I do CS on Saturday, and Z8 on Sunday and holly cow! That was 4 seasons ago, and all I've done since is each spring I add a coat of Z5 and CS. After that, its just a wash, blow dry, & Z6 or Z8 (for a show) and GO!
Having had a black car and living on a dirt road was the crucible for me. I'm with you. The paint has to be cleaned and prepped and the base coat(s) allowed to to "their thing". But, after that I found that Zaino requires only a fraction of the time and effort that wax takes.
Some are waxers, some are warriors. Some "get off" by rubbing on their cars. Wax is just the thing for that.
I'm a warrior...who likes to look good while blowing the doors off victims; don't especially like to rub on my car (rather tune it, or the like). Zaino was an epiphany (for me).

On dark color cars Zaino creates an amazing shine if you follow their application procedures.
On the other hand people that use Rejex are very happy with it. Also, according to the hype, bugs don't stick to it. Bugs aren't probably going to be a problem in the AZ heat though, I'd guess.
There are others out there. It's really a matter of your personal preference and a lot of how the car will look is in the prep before you use any wax or sealant. Do some research in the Car care section there's lots of info there.

I use Chemical Guys LAVA and Detail Kind aquaseal. Aquaseal is an awesome durability apply when wet paint sealant that I use most of the time. When I go to shows I apply Lava, it makes the metallic in the paint pop more and gives more of a "glow" than just a straight shine.
Anyone who disagrees I'll match paint jobs with in three years.
