Default Dip Stick question

I'm sure that I set my self up with this heading
CC lists the 84 dip stick and then all of the rest.
Can anyone confirm that the 84 dip stick is different from 85 and on?
Or, anyone know what other GM vehicles may use the same one?
Thanks,
Glen

My parts CD shows:

10077067 for '84
14094758 for '85 - '88
10108430 for '89 - '91

So it appears that the '84 dip stick is unique to that year. I assume the tube is also unique. I don't know if a later dip stick/tube combo would work. I assume the way the tube is bolted to the block (actually exhaust manifold) varies from year to year.

It wouldn't have anything to do with how it takes an oil level reading, as long as the tube location is in the same place...WW

Cliff, Thanks, that's what I thought. I did some work on mine yesterday, got it untwisted and smoothed the weld mark.
It works as it should, just without the plastic handle at the top -I'm going to see if I can find something else to attach -or wait until I find one.
Call me cheap, but new ones on Ebay and the Corvette catalogs go for $ 35.00, plus shipping
Thanks again, Glen
